PSA FOR ALL PLAYERS: Teammates can revive you when you die.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 10:42 AM PDT

So when you drop into that very heavily populated area right off the bat or drop in an entirely different spot alone and away from your squad, then die, and then die in the gulag, you can actually get revived instead of just backing out and starting a new goddamn match.

I wen't from negative KD to 2.0 in the last 2 months. Here are my tips.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 03:10 PM PDT

    Jumping

Make sure you have a couple places you know well to land so you can be in a familiar setting if things are chaotic early. This has been stated multiple times, but I can't stress how important placement is, and knowing where enemies are landing with you. Trying to down people out of the plane is also an easy way to put yourself in a stretch. Only attempt this when the spot you are landing is near the plane route, and avoid at all cost on long jumps.

    Landing

Always try to land on a gun, especially subs & LMG's (mainly the bruen). The AR's in season 4 are meh (M13/FAL I will always pick up), and ammo count is trash on all of them if you drop hot and have multiple targets. As long as you've placed yourself well in a spot you're familiar with, it is fine to not find a gun in the first minute or two. Aside from the fact that people who pick up guns first tend to be focal targets, wildly chasing around looting is an equally easy way to get yourself killed. Better to be without a gun than out of position. Another note I'll add, is scavengers tend to be hot drops of themselves. This can be used to your advantage. I can't tell how many times my team has dropped near a scav instead of on it, and clean up the team that landed there. Play these by ear, and know when to take advantage of people out of position.

    Early Game

If you and your team managed to get decent ground loot, great. Loot everyone else around who died, and continue looting the area if this wasn't done before fighting. Your first goal should always be loadout, though if you have a shaky start, there are better strategies I will discuss later. A free loadout drops at the end of the first circle (I believe this is common knowledge by now), so stacking a purchased loadout with this will give you your desired optimal weaponry, as well as perks.

    Loadout

I won't delve into perk or weapon preferences, but simply to have a situational loadout for scenarios like heavily built areas, more open areas, and late game. Sniping is definitely powerful in this game, I enjoy it alot actually, but the Grau/MP5 meta outguns every aspect of the unconventional things that happen in fights, as well as being better than most of the other guns. I find myself leaning alot on the MP5, and that's an honest assessment. Knowing how to fight with the weapons you pick will keep you in fights longer, and help you win them sooner. When someone gets closer than 20 meters, pull out a sub. If you're sniping and someone pushes inside 100 meters, pull out your AR, or back off if you have a sub and don't want to challenge since they likely have a grau.

    Mid Game

If you had a rough landing, had teammates hit the guge, or just couldn't net positive from the fights you took on, don't worry, this is where you shine. Since you probably didn't get enough dough to get a loadout yourself, prioritize the one that drops free above all else. There won't be another for 3 more circles, which is alot long to go without cash than you already have. Plus there is a 90% chance you will need to buy plates, and should do so before getting the loadout drop when it is strategical, or none of you have plates at all. Play this game slowly, and kills will come. Keep looting, and don't stay anywhere too long. Look for scavs and bounties that reset after the circles close. Cash is going to get you the good stuff, and set you up for late.

If you had a monster drop, and you already have gotten both loadouts, be agro. And I don't mean be stupid, I mean play like you have the advantage, because you likely will. Listen for enemy gunfire, notice if they have loadout. Buy UAV's, and grab bounties, as these will usually finish much quicker than scavs in the mid game. Only a handful of teams will be completely setup with 2 full loudouts, full plates, and possibly score streaks at this point, it is the best point in the game to push enemy teams while they try to put themselves in the same position.

    Late Game

If you've died around this point in the game, prioritize the last free loadout drop. While it will be hot, ground loot just won't cut it late game. Even if you had the advantage early, dying puts you in a flipped position of trying to get back the advantage you had earlier. Grabbing this loadout can even out that disadvantage by about 3/4's as you won't have plates or ammo. If your team is still alive to fill up all your needs, you can ignore this section completely. If all or most of you died, get this loadout, and look for money and ammo. Contracts could help, especially recons and scavs. Bounties should be off the table unless you want to pick it up in hopes of a poach, or it's all there is.

Position late game, regardless of how you are setup at this time, should be strung to the same philosophy as when you dropped. In this case, it is better to be without ammo than be out of position. Pay attention to the fights around you, as well as when people rotate. When you can, skim off the loot from other player's fights, you will be suprised to even find scorestreaks, gasmasks, and satchels. The winning team will often head to the nearest buy to spend the cash they just picked up, use timing to your advantage when you don't have any.

If you are well set at the beginning of the end, pay attention to where the circles collapse. Guesstimate an end point and play around it. If there is plenty of cover, find a position where you and your team can hold down a 360 degree view. Whether this is done by being on a roof, or simply behind a concrete wall and a bus, having full circle view late game is crucial to position. Always try to gather this information before pushing anyone late, as ghost teams tend to thrive here, and bank on other team's confidence in their own position. Once you know where the teams in your area are at, come up with a plan that involves as little initiation as possible. People will always know where the first bullet came from, but once the shooting starts, additional information has to be chatted over coms with gunfire. The 2 seconds of waiting to shoot can be the difference between getting team shot, and the team trying to figure out where you are the whole fight. When there are less than 10 people left, this principle is magnified. Stay away from center circle. If enough people last, it will start moving different places. Position can be helpful, but this is where I pull the "position matters most" card off the table. Anyone left alive will be thinking one thing when they see the last circle jump 200 meters south, "I have to get in zone", and they aren't wrong. What's wrong is the timing, the movement speed of the last circle is not fast, and it doesn't shrink, meaning you can stay put for up to 20 seconds while the last zone is moving. The second the circle starts to move, take a quick peek, people will tend to move at two different moments: right at the start, and not until they have to. Don't be either of these. Find a sweet spot to move and shoot, but never stop looking around until you know you've killed the last player(s).

Hopefully this helps you all some, thank you for your patronage.
