Is it just me or sound is really shitty in this game?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 12:08 PM PDT

This is triggering me so hard. I died so many times because I hear footsteps in front of me, from a dude behind a wall. He passes through that wall, and surprise! He's actually coming from behind me!

Same with verticallity. I'm used to CS where it's really bad, but here, I don't even know how it's possible to hear someone right behind me when the enemy is in front one stair above.

Also sound queues don't give you any info about the distance, the enemy could be 20m to 120m that you wouldn't hear a difference.

    So... Is it just me?

    Cheaters are flourishing

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:02 AM PDT

I'm playing on Asian servers because I live in Japan and cheaters are running rampant here (Chinese cheaters in particular). People's aim are staying glued to my head in the kill cams and I'm sure they can see through walls as they prefire round corners when I'm not making a sound). I'm on PS4 so I tried turning off cross play but now I can't play with my friends who are on PC and my ping is through the roof. Please please nip it in the bud Infinity ward!

Let PC and XBOX players disable cross-play

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:44 AM PDT

I'm getting straight to the point on this one. Players on XBOX and PC should be able to disable cross-play in Warzone lobbies. I'm not going to debate the many reasons why we should have the option to do so; I'm just going to put the idea out there. Hopefully this post can get some traction and reach the attention of IW. PS4 already has the ability to disable cross-play in WZ, therefore PC and XBOX should have the same option. Cross-play was a great idea in theory but it turns out that many gamers would rather play against opponents with the same inputs and similar systems.

*I'm not asking to remove cross-play completely, I'm just asking for the option to disable it

Edit: I keep seeing more and more comments and posts about people who have QUIT playing WZ because of Cross-play, so this is an issue for a lot of people!

Edit: I want to make it clear that this post isn't about whether or not PC or Console is at a disadvantage. This is simply about having the option to turn cross-play off.

Edit: I want to expand on a couple more ideas people have put out there real quick:

    1. Input based matchmaking, I think this could be an alternative option. Kind of a compromise. And if I'm not mistaken I believe this is already in the regular multiplayer portion of the game if you play with cross-play on and it seems to work pretty well.

    2. A simple 3 matchmaking pools. -Console only -Mixed -PC only

Thanks for your input, recommendations, & comments

    Heartbeat Sensor bug explained

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:02 AM PDT

    TL;DR: https://streamable.com/6m1ko

The Heartbeat Sensor is bugged, and always has been. But it's only bugged some of the time. Hopefully this will clear up what's actually going on.

What the Heartbeat Sensor is meant to do

As I understand it, the Heartbeat Sensor does three things:

    • It displays the distance between you and the nearest enemy within range;
    • It gives an audio notification if it detects an enemy within range;
    • It displays the nearest enemy within a smaller range as a green blip on the radar.

The range for the distance and the audio notification is 50 metres in Warzone, but for the green blip to appear you have to be quite a bit closer to the nearest enemy. And both ranges operate in a 180 degree cone (or semicircle I guess) centred on where you're looking, so you have to be looking in the right direction to pick anything up.

Sidenote: the two ranges thing is why some people are getting a bit confused about the Heartbeat Sensor, thinking that if you hear the audio but you don't see a blip then it means someone with the Ghost perk is nearby. In fact, it's just that there are two different ranges going on.

    The bug

Sometimes, the green blip of the Heartbeat Sensor will become bugged. When bugged, the radar gets locked to North, rather than the direction you're facing. Which means the green blip will only be accurate if you happen to be facing North.

Note that the other two aspects of the Heartbeat Sensor (the distance and the audio notification) remain perfectly accurate; but if you're not facing North while this bug is in effect, the blip may appear in entirely the wrong place - or not at all.

Here's how you can tell if the bug is happening for you: the moment a green blip appears on the Heartbeat Sensor, turn the camera. If the green blip rotates accordingly, then the Sensor is working properly. But if the green blip remains static, then it's bugged.

Here's a quick demonstration of the bug: https://streamable.com/6m1ko

    How to fix it

I'd love to know a concrete way of fixing this issue, but it seems weirdly variable. I have however been able to fix the problem numerous times by going into my Graphics settings, changing the resolution scale, applying, and then changing it back and applying. Don't ask me why this works; I haven't a clue. But I'm not sure if this works every time.

Loadout Drops are in a good spot right now, don't change it yet!

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 01:08 AM PDT

I've seen some people voice their opinion about the loadout system in this game is "not a BR way to do things"

I think it's absolutely fine! I have two points I want to talk about:

    • Weapons are meant to be swapped many times during the game! So many people are dissing on how "you only need 6k and you're set!" and that looting is irrelevant. Floor loot is necessary for on the go fights, early game and the occasional RPG or lethal is amazing to swap around when the time calls for it. Ring locations are so important in this game because it determines if you're going to fight vehicles, long distance fights, close quarter fights, and small ring fights! Buy stations are scattered so you can switch into the the ring you're fighting for! You might go sniper and launcher in the beginning but you might be getting into a building dense area so you swap it out for an smg later game! It helps so you don't have to rely in the RNG of the game, which brings up my next point.

    • BRs DON'T HAVE TO BE RANDOM! The whole genre is revolved on being the last one standing, not rolling your dice on being the luckiest. I think people forget that a lot. I notice a lot of things that this game focuses on that most BR-experienced players don't notice and it's the consistency of resources. This gamemode focuses on being the best at adapting in the situations than adapting to what you have. You have all the ammo you want, the killstreaks to stop campers, the weapons you need for the fight. It's just, do you have the skills to execute your strategy.

    That concludes my TED talk
